MALACCA, Sept 11 — The investigation paper (IP) on the incident where a bodyguard of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was alleged to have drawn his pistol and pointed it at the public at a function organised by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in Kampung Baru Rim here last Saturday is expected to be completed this week.
Malacca police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye said following which, the IP would be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.
He said police were still conducting investigations, including studying a video recording on the alleged incident which was handed over by a member of the public.
“We have also recorded statements from several witnesses who came forward to provide evidence on the alleged incident,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
He said the investigation also included an allegation of the bus which Anwar (picture) was travelling in on that day being splashed with red paint when it arrived at the function.
He urged those who witnessed the incident to come forward to assist the police with investigations. — Bernama
