The government will need to use elements of popular culture like the viral ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘Kolaveri’ songs to reach out to youths, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department SK Devamany.
"Gangnam (Style) and Kolaveri is more popular then (our national song)Negaraku."That's why the 1M4U song has a distinctive beat," Devamany said.
The unique beat he hoped will help the government to connect with youths who he said are far removed from the concerns of the country.
"The youths today are hedonistic, they follow a pleasure culture, with no emotional connection to the rakyat," he claimed.
