An eye-witness video showing PAS-linked NGO Anak’s four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle driving into a crowd in Negri Sembilan last Sunday has surfaced to refute claims that the vehicle was unduly attacked.
In the five-minutevideo purportedly first uploaded onto the Internet byFacebook user Razali Zakari, the vehicle is seen speeding into a mob carrying BN flags.
The vehicle quickly comes to a stop, and the mob starts to hit it with flag poles, upon which it reverses away at a similarly high speed.
The vehicle, a yellow pick-up truck, was carrying a man at the back. He is seen in the video cowering as the truck reverses away.
Later in the video, a man is seen inspecting a motorcycle, while People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) members are spotted amongst the mob, who were mostly carrying BN flags.
The video was re-uploaded ontoYouTube by blogger Anak Sungai Derhaka, purportedly after Razali removed the video from hisFacebook page.
It is believed that the video captures what had happened before the windscreen and side mirror of the vehicle were smashedusing flag poles by a group of angry men.
The incident had occurred near Felda Bukit Rokan Utara, close to Tampin. The mob was barring Felda settlers’ rights NGO Anak's Orange Convoy from entering the settlement.
Sinar Harian on Monday quoted an unnamed source as saying that the vehicle had hit a resident's motorcycle.
Negri Sembilan Orange Convoy programme director Abdul Rahman Ramli later on Monday told Harakahdaily that the vehicle “slightly grazed a motorcyle by accident” when reversing to escape the mob attack.

Panic
Speaking to Malaysiakini, Anak president and PAS central committee member Mazlan Aliman said that the driver had backed into the crowd because of “panic”.
“How can he not panic? He was thinking of securing our safety and that of the equipment,” said Mazlan, who was “several cars” behind the four-wheel-drive vehicle.
When asked why the driver had driven into the crowd, he said that the convoy had not expected that a main road to be blocked and had decided to forgo Felda Bukit Rokan Utara and continue their journey to Jelai.
“He wanted to continue to Jelai but was surrounded by a mob, so he ended up reversing and this was seen as a challenge by the mob.
“We never expected such a provocation, and to be treated that way when all we wanted to do was to distribute some leaflets. We had even informed the police beforehand,” he said.

Two of the convoy members sustained injuries in the scuffle and a police report has been lodged at the Jempol police district headquarters.
