Kit Siang accused of ‘selective amnesia’

Minister accuses Lim Kit Siang of 'selective amnesia', tells latter to 'self-assess'.
PETALING JAYA: A Cabinet minister today accused Lim Kit Siang of practising “selective amnesia” and having double standard when criticising Barisan Nasional.
Housing and Local Government Minister Chor Chee Heung today slammed the DAP parliamentary leader for “constantly casting doubts” against the Najib administration, yet “does not carry out the same rigorous standards in evaluating their own faults”.
“Kit Siang wants to present himself as being outspoken. Unfortunately, he only prefers to focus on problems faced by BN and not Pakatan,” Chor said in a press statement.
Chor claimed there were “plenty of internal problems adrift within DAP”, and accused Lim of turning “a blind eye and a deaf ear” on the DAP party polls blunder.
“Even more amazing is that it took DAP two weeks to discover the error in the ballot count,” he said.
“Not only did Lim fail to speak out or criticise the bungle, no DAP leaders were held responsible in this serious issue,” he added.
The MCA vice-president lamented the DAP polls tabulation procedure was “questionable” as not a single Malay candidate was elected into the central working committee.
“However, in the final audit of ballots, an announcement was made that technical mistakes had occurred and a Malay candidate was selected into the CWC,” he said.
“With so many coincidences occurring, the entire recount process becomes just too incredible,” he added.
Chor then claimed Lim was not only speechless on internal problems within DAP, but also on the “implementation of a wide range of theocratic policies which had raised dissatisfaction among non-Muslims”.
“This DAP stalwart held himself in check and withheld criticising PAS,” he said. “His selective criticism, speculations and double standards styles are too plain obvious.”
