MCA launches video against 'Superman's vulgar culture'

MCA Youth and Beliawanis have co-launched a 61-second shortvideo to counter popular DAP speaker Hew Kuan Yew’s alleged use of crude language during ceramah sessions. Watch the video:

NONEMCA Youth education bureau chief Chong Sin Woon said they want to be in the vanguard to curb the proliferation of vulgar culture on he part of ‘Superman’ - the popular  nickname for Hew (right, centre picture).

“We know that Superman is the saviour of mankind and helps victims.

“But this 'Superman' in Malaysia is (an icon) of vulgar and slander culture, so MCA Youth and Beliawanis want to be the vanguard to counter the (Malaysian) Superman,” Chong told a press conference at MCA headquarters this afternoon.

Chong pointed out that parents normally disallowed their children from using vulgar words.

However, he said, Hew’s ceramah sessions were full of insulting language relating to “animals, (sexual) organs and women” which would poison the minds of children.

Chong claimed that the contemporary usage of vulgar language on the Internet had started from Hew’s ceramah sessions during the 2011 Sarawak state election, which was Hew’s first run in a major political campaign for the DAP.
“You (Hew) may win the vote of the youths who think you are so cool.

'Behaving against the Chinese culture'

“But your behaviour goes against the Chinese culture, (you) should not pollute our next generation,” Chong added.

Chong noted that the likelihood of an “overwhelming” response from the public does not rule out the possibility that the party would be releasing more anti-vulgarity videos.

In the just released video, there were a group of pupils reciting a Chinese historical sculpture known as, ‘Standards for Students’.

After that scene, another group of students appeared to be watching and learning rude words from Hew’s ceramah through the Internet.

The video insinuated that people should not vote for DAP, as doing so would affect our future generations into adopting vulgar words instead of behaving politely.

It then ends with a short appearance of BN’s logo and urges the public “to vote (for) the right people, then we won’t go down the wrong road”.

In response, Hew told Malaysiakini - in a cynical tone - that he “thanked” MCA for spending their resources just to retaliate to an ordinary DAP member like himself.

chua soi lek 270213 01“I am grateful that they (MCA) recognise my influence. I am not even a candidate, nor (am I) holding any party position. They are making me more famous,” he said when contacted.

He opined that the video would present a backlash to MCA, instead of helping their case.

In a recent Facebook posting, Hew striked back at MCA by asking party president Chua Soi Lek (left), who is infamous among netizens for his involvement in extramarital affairs, as to “what kind of culture MCA is representing?”

He also posed a similar question to former MCA president and deputy president Ling Liong Sek and Chan Kong Choy, who were both reported to be involved in the Port Klang Free Zone scandal, wherein he asked, “what kind of culture are they representing?”
