Was there really a plot hatched by the BN government to cover-up something unclean?

Now, the former Sabah chief minister of the previous Berjaya state government Tan Sri Harris Salleh had just made a final plea to urge the authorities, particularly the police force not to confiscate the Mykads and other documentations from the citizens of Suluk origin in the state. According to him, the confiscation exercise could be part of the retaliation by the police in aftermath of the attacks by the armed Sulu terrorists in Lahad Datu which resulted to the death of their men.

There are so much coincidence over here. And the situation is getting more complicated and confusing. First the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to Investigate the Illegal Immigrants in Sabah was established and during the RCI hearing, some people from the ground, be it Malaysians or the illegal immigrants themselves had exposed many dirty works from within the administration during the former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad's reign.

Then, the Sulu terrorists intruded into our nation's water without even a trace and landed on the beaches in Lahad Datu without even been seen. From here, what went wrong? It is either the defense radar was jammed, downed or simply there were nobody manning the radar station. Another instant, maybe the authorities simply turned a blind eye on this armed intrusion.

When the intrusion was discovered, the authorities started to cordoned the entire affected areas and brought in officials from the foreign affairs ministry to "negotiate" with these Sulu terrorists.According to the home affairs minister Hishammuddin Hussein, these Sulu terrorists were neither militants nor terrorists, and these group were a bunch of old men with sarongs and slippers, where that is why diplomacy was being used to persuade these terrorists to leave peacefully. The negotiation process went on for so many weeks until the police force finally decided to initiate an assault onto this group in order to drive them out of Sabah.

What happened then, the Sulu terrorists who are in sarongs and slippers seems to be more experience in combat and guerrilla warfare than the members of the police force, which resulted to many policemen dead before even the exact battle takes place. The army's proposal to take over the operation has been refused in the initial stage as the home affairs minister and the inspector-general of police had both insisted that the police force could handle this situation.

Then the government had announced that the hearings of the RCI to Investigate the Illegal Immigrants in Sabah has been postponed until further notice until the situation in Lahad Datu is settled with. The situation is almost coming to ten weeks now and the military was finally called in to assist the police force to deal these Sulu terrorists.

The army and police personnel had started to comb suspected areas and villages to flush out the terrorists and to ensure the remnants of the groups are not hiding within the areas. In the process of combing, the police force had also started to after Malaysians of Suluk origin, confiscating and destroying their Mykad and other documentations related to their citizenships, maybe as a sign of retaliation.

Dissatisfaction amongst the Suluk community in Sabah began and the leaders of this community had voiced their grievances to the former Sabah chief minister so that their plight could be heard by those on the top there. Harris is now urging the police to stop confiscating Mykads and documents belonging to the Suluk community and claimed that such action undertaken by the authorities were unethical and against the law as these Malaysians of Suluk origin in Sabah were possessing valid and lawful documentations issued by the National Registration Department (JPN).

Now, can we all actually see what is really happening right there in Sabah? Might it be some sort of coincidence or was there a plot being hatched by the BN government to cover-up something dirty? Let us review again the summarized details below:

16. Police began massive hunt to flush out suspected terrorists hideouts,
17. Malaysians of Suluk origin in Sabah were targeted,
18. Suluks' Mykads and documents were being confiscated and destroyed,
19. Suluk community leaders lodged complaint to former Sabah chief minister,
20. Former Sabah chief minister pleaded to the government to stop the witch hunt against the Suluks.

From the summarized details of the entire event leading to the crisis, the entire situation does look suspicious and we think that there might be some sort of plot being hatched to cover-up something dirty which has been exposed during the initial stage of the RCI hearing.

When the RCI hearing was underway, a former local Wanita Umno leader had also revealed in a press conference that she was part of a team of staffs within the Sabah Umno under the direct instructions of the then state Umno chief the late Tun Datu Mustapha bin Datu Harun to process about more than 500,000 illegal immigrants to be given Malaysian citizenships and made voters for the coming Sabah state elections during that era in order to topple the then Opposition-held Sabah state government.

Prior to this, the RCI had also heard the testifying details of some former and current JPN officials and personnel on how they were being instructed to process these illegal immigrants into Malaysian citizens and these officials were later being detained under the recently abolished Internal Security Act (ISA) in order to prevent the Project IC being exposed during the then state elections.

It was clear that the Project IC was a plot to pave way for the rise of Umno in Sabah. And the current situation here, was it a plot or conspiracy to disrupt the further hearings of the RCI? If the hearings of the RCI were to continue as scheduled, might it be more dirty works as well as those top leaders in the BN government would be exposed? Will more of these BN leaders may be implicated in this scandal?

They have no other choice, by whatever means it takes, the RCI must be stopped and prevented from continuing its hearing. Otherwise ......?
