28 of the 33 speakers at last night’s Pakatan Rakyat mega rally in Selangor made statements that contravened the Sedition Act, and will be investigated, said the police.
According to Chinese dailies today, the Selangor police chief (CPO) at a press conference said all of the alleged offenders will be called up for investigations.The CPO was also reported saying that the police had advised Pakatan to postpone the rally but they had defied the suggestion, resulting in massive traffic jams.
He pointed out that under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, the police require prior notice of 10 days.
An estimated 120,000 turned up for Pakatan’s post general election rally to protest alleged electoral fraud that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim had blamed for the coalition’s loss.
