Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Aziz Kaprawi today denied that the government plans to implement a policy to limit car lifespans, dismissing the issue as "an opposition speculation".
"The government has no such plan," Aziz told a press conference at the Parliament lobby.
Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) director-general Wong Shaw Voon, who was also at the press conference, said Miros never made an official recommendation to the government to introduce such a policy.
"It was just a crash test we were conducting in Malacca," Wong said.
