Son of ex-deputy president Subramaniam elected to new MIC top bod

The son of former MIC deputy president Tan Sri S. Subramaniam was among the winners for MIC's Central Working committee (CWC) seats in the party's polls yesterday.
S. Sunthar, 34, was among the 23 candidates who managed to secure a place in the CWC after garnering 729 votes.
He was previously appointed as a member of the CWC, highest decision making body in MIC by party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.
Meanwhile, Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan, another candidate who won the CWC post, said the decision by the delegates showed a positive voice for youthful rejuvenation within the party.
"I hope everybody accepts the results with an open heart and work together for the community's transformation," he said.
