While the folks in Kg. Railway make their final arrangement to settle their temporary housing to PPR Bukit Jalil, they are informed the developer (YTL) will be going on with eviction and tearing down their houses on the second day of Christmas.
To many in Kg. Railway who celebrate Christmas, this year will not be a very joyful one.
Quite a number of folks have collected their keys for their new homes but upon visiting the premises they are let down with the condition of these houses. Many of these units have not been maintained. Doors, door knobs, pipes, leaks are yet to be fitted and fixed.
Although the residents of Kg. Railway are in the processes of settling their paperwork, collecting their keys & waiting for maintenance to be done, YTL insist on evicting them and bulldozing down their houses.
YTL should be more considerate and provide these folks a little more time to conclude all the necessary and move. Quite a few families have moved out, YTL should go ahead and tear down these houses.
No compassion shown?
Sickly folks from the kampung who has appealed and currently waiting for DBKL housing within Batu area will also be evicted cum this Thursday (26 Dec 2013).
These folks will be forced into taking units in Bukit Jalil while awaiting their appeal. In the event of an emergency, the location between the PPR and the hospital is in a very worrying distance. Those who seek check-ups in Hospital Kuala Lumpur will now need to travel many more miles.
I regret YTL has not shown any compassion in the process of taking over this land. The Kg. folks are not against the order they simply require a bit more time to move out. Nobody wants to move into a house where the basic facilities are out of service.
YTL claimed to be socially responsible and religious conscience company thus they should not simply turn up on the second day of Christmas exercising brute force.
