Police say it has already acted on reports against Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) president Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman for making seditious comments following complaints of inaction.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Gan Kong Meng said police had recorded Abdullah's Zaik's statement some two weeks ago, according to The Star's report today.
“We are now waiting for reports from the MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) and CCID (Commercial Crimes Investigation Department) cyber security division.
“Once we have them, we will submit the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action,” he was quoted as saying.
Yesterday, Gerakan deputy president Cheah Soon Hai (left) had lamented the lack of action against Isma despite several police reports.
This comes as Isma triggered a fresh controversy by warning of racial riots like in 1969 and said DAP would be responsible for it.
On May 6, Abdullah Zaik had labelled Chinese Malaysians as "intruders" in the country.
Following this, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said Abdullah Zaik would be investigated under the Sedition Act.
