Ex-MB snubs PM, another rep may backpedal

Former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said will not attend the meeting with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak regarding the ongoing political crisis in the state.

When contacted, Ahmad's aide toldMalaysiakini that the ex-MB would not be present at the meeting in Putrajaya today.

Meanwhile, a news report claimed that Ajil state assemblyperson Ghazali Taib, who quit together with Ahmad and Bukit Besi assemblyperson Roslee Daud, is on the verge of retracting his resignation from Umno.

Quoting unnamed sources, Berita Harian said Ghazali and Roslee, who was reported to have withdrawn his resignation last night, would be attending the meeting with Najib as welll.

Should Ghazali return to the BN fold, it would only leave Ahmad as the sole rebel, who was the first to quit Umno on Monday night, followed by Ghazali and Roslee.

Malaysiakini is attempting to contact both Ghazali and Roslee regarding their aborted resignations.

However, Roslee's aide toldMalaysiakini that his boss is presently in Putrajaya ahead of the pow-wow this afternoon.

Without Roslee (right) and Ghazali's resignations, BN would have 16 seats versus Pakatan Rakyat's 15 in the state assembly.

Newly minted Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman is expected to hold a press conference after the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office today.
