PETALING JAYA - Actress Nora Danish has come out on top among local artistes on the Instagram popularity chart with a following exceeding 800,000 on the social website.
She has 828,000 followers, according to a random survey that was run until 4pm on Monday by mStar, the Malay news portal of the Star Media Group.
The survey also ranked Malaysia's Pop Princess Datuk Siti Nurhaliza in the second spot with 622,000 followers, closely followed by actress Lisa Surihani in the third slot (601,000).
Not far behind them with 589,000 followers is comedian Zizan Razak, the thorn among the roses in the Top Five of the portal's popularity poll.
He is just a step above his steady girlfriend Emma Maembong, who has 588,000 followers.
The only other man in the Top 15 of popular Instagram artistes is actor Aaron Aziz, who came in at No. 11 with 419,000 followers.
Based on the three artistes with the highest number of followers, Nora rises above the rest because she frequently uploads pictures of her regular pursuits, including at filming locations and holidays abroad.
She has also not made it a secret that she is in a relationship with Nedim Nazri, with loads of pictures of her and the son of Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Nazri Aziz.
On average, each image that is uploaded by Nora draws between 15,000 and 30,000 followers, while her postings are shared an average of 5,563 times.
Siti Nurhaliza posts video recordings of her performances, studio recordings, leisure activities and what she does in the kitchen.
She shares cooking tips with fans and also talks about her breakfast meals.
Lisa Surihani uses Instagram to upload all sorts of pictures, including scenery and vacations with her husband Yusri Abdul Hamid of the famous KRU brothers.
She also shares pictures of her and her artiste friends, not forgetting those from shooting sets.
Lisa has the most "likes" - more than 55,000 - of her video recordings and more than 2,700 posts on Instagram.
However, on Twitter, Lisa is the most popular artiste with a total of 2.1 million followers, ahead of Siti Nurhaliza (1.4 million) and Nora (1.2 million). -Asiaone
