Fears that it may be sub judice have halted the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)’s report on its probe into the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) controversy, PAC chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed said today.
The NFC report was completed by the previous PAC line-up before the 13th general election more than a year ago, and was submitted by the current PAC line-up to the Parliament speaker last year.
But speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia has referred the matter to attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail.
“The report is ready, can be tabled except that the AG has the opinion that it will be sub judice,” Nur Jazlan (left) said.
NFC executive chairperson Mohamad Salleh is facing two counts of criminal breach of trust amounting to RM 49.7 million at the High Court currently, in a case that has been going on since 2012.
The NFC scandal involves a RM250 million soft loan given by the federal government to the family members of Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the current Wanita Umno chief.
“We have done our job. We have prepared our report and submitted it to the speaker, as the person in charge of Parliament,” Nur Jazlan added.
