• Malays being driven out of Penang, claims Wanita Umno delegate
• delegate from Batu Kawan, Rohaya Abu Ismail said Malays were being driven out from a settlement in Balik Pulau as the DAP-led state government had allowed non-Malays to buy property in the area.
• Rohaya also said that the Malay settlements were seeing the presence of more non-Malays.
• “Before this, we hardly see other races doing business at the market as the Malays dominated 90 to 95%. Not anymore,” she said
• Batu Kawan division chief said the value of property in the island has also gone up by 300%.
• “The prices of property particularly in Balik Pulau are ridiculous, almost RM1mil for a terrace house,” 
• adding that most Malays could not afford property in the area.

RM1 million for a terrace house in Balik Pulau !! We used to own a comfy semi D in Minden Heights, Gelugor.  Wonder how much that would be worth now?

Well, Rohaya it is not Lim Guan Eng's fault. The market feels confident that these are the real values of the entire Penang Island, under the Pakatan Rakyat. The Chinese people feel that the island is now worth three times as much in just seven years.

A mamak friend of mine bought an apartment for over RM500,000 ('The Light Waterfront'). Now dah RM900,000. The mamak original in Penang who are businesssmen  and work hard still can compete with the Chinese. Some can do better also.

Mamak UMNO pula makin lembik. Dok tunggu duit sabsidi. Dah hilang mamak dia dah. Bukan ori lagi.  Mamak UMNO must regain their pioneering spirit. The whole UMNO must regain their pioneering spirit.
