KUALA LUMPUR - MIC vice-president Datuk M. Saravanan has threatened to hold a large gathering outside the home of party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel if he fails to hold an emergency meeting with central working committee members within 24 hours.
“We are giving him 24 hours to hold the meeting. If not we will gather at Palanivel’s house.
“Things are getting out of control,” he said outside MIC headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Saravanan was replaced as Federal Teritory MIC chairman by Datuk Rajoo Vyraperumal.
The appearance Saravanan’s supporters created a tense atmosphere outside the headquarters with police standing by.
Tempers flared when security guards refused to allow some of them to enter the building.
The crowd eventually calmed down when Saravanan came out of the building to pacify them.
