Pua: Truth on 1MDB, WSJ claims to be revealed tomorrow

The truth about 1MDB's alleged financial mismanagement, including exposes by the Wall Street Journal, will be revealed tomorrow, said Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua.
This he said, will happen once the Public Accounts Committee report on 1MDB is tabled in Parliament tomorrow.
The question that will be answered he said include:
  • Whether 1MDB put in US$700 million into Good Star Ltd, and whether it is actually linked to PetroSaudi International.
  • Whether or not 1MDB made payments to the real 'Aabar Investments PJS', or a 'fake' company in the British Virgin Islands named 'Aabar Investments PJS Ltd'.
  • Whether these funds parked in the British Virgin Islands went to Red Granite Pictures to produce ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
Pua said while the report will not touch on the RM2.6 billion donation, it may shed light on allegations by WSJ that the funds came from payments to Aabar Investments PJS Ltd.
“I feel that with all the exposes that has happened, with the PAC report which will be published tomorrow, there will be huge pressure on Najib's leadership.
“Tomorrow we will also know if 1MDB president Arul Kanda Kandasamy is the biggest liar in Malaysia,” Pua said at a dinner to mark the launch of Pakatan Harapan in Shah Alam tonight.
Based on what he knows, the DAP lawmaker said he knew why attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali did not grant the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission permission to seek mutual legal assistance overseas.
“If the MACC could contact foreign enforcement agencies, then would find the entire money trail and find out if the money in Najib’s personal accounts came from 1MDB.”
Najib has denied misusing public funds for personal gain.
Apandi had also cleared the prime minister of any criminal misconduct in the RM2.6 billion donation case.
The government maintains that the donation came from the Saudi royal family.
Putrajaya has cited a letter revealed by Australian media, claiming that a Saudi prince gave Najib a US$375 million gift in 2011 as proof of the donation narrative. -Mkini
