Yes, says KJ to TMJ debate challenge

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has picked up the gauntlet thrown at him by the Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, for them to debate the state of Malaysian football.
"Yes. Ok," was his curt answer when asked about the matter during a press conference at a hotel in Petaling Jaya tonight.
"How many ways can you interpret 'yes'? Yes means yes. Yes does not mean no," he blurted when pressed for confirmation.
Asked whether he believes the debate will be a good move, Khairy said he is unsure, but thinks that facing the crown prince is something that he should do to ward off allegations that they do not want to face each other.
"I don't know whether its a good thing or not but it is something that needs to be done, right?
"Otherwise people will say we don't want to face each other or whatever," he replied.
It is best, said the minister, for everyone to meet and air their grievances so that they can put an end to the matter.
"So better to just go there and have my say. He can have his say and everyone else can have their say. The end," he said before attending the Sports Writers Association Malaysia-100 Plus Awards 2015.
Tunku Ismail had yesterday challenged Khairy for a debate on what many see as the dismal state of current Malaysian football.
In issuing the challenge, Tunku Ismail had also cheekily taken a dig at the RM100 mill corruption case implicating a Youth and Sports ministry officer.
Aside From Khairy, Tunku Ismail also expressed hope that the debate will be joined by national coach Ong Kim Swee, National Football Development Programme director Lim Tong Kim and Malaysian Football Coaches Association president B Sathianathan. -Mkini
