ARROGANT & TOO FULL OF ITSELF? DAP ACCEPTS RESIGNATION OF U.K. PhD CANDIDATE ROGER TEOH IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS

GEORGE TOWN – The DAP today accepted the resignation of Roger Teoh, a PHD candidate at the Centre for Transport Studies in Imperial College London.
Teoh, in an exclusive interview with theSun said his request for resignation was accepted in less than 24 hours after he tendered it.
He said he is relieved that he finally can speak the truth for the Penang people to make an accurate judgement on the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP).
“Personally speaking, I think Penang needs a check and balance.
“DAP has been in power for over eight years without any adequate opposition in the house which I think is unhealthy for Penang,” he told theSun through a Facebook interview today.
The 23-year-old PhD student who has been a party member for the last three years said the main reason for his resignation was based on his principles which is to make Malaysia a better place.
He, however said he was deeply disappointed with what he saw happening in Penang.
He said he has been writing a lot for the past few months on the PTMP, but despite that, he heard nothing concrete from the top leadership.
“I have been raising it internally many times, but received no convincing explanation from DAP members in power,” he said, adding that he felt disappointed and did not mind speaking the truth, even if it was offensive.
Teoh tendered his resignation from the party after voicing his objection and criticisms toward the PTMP.
He is currently based in London doing a PhD in Aviation.
Although a member with the Bagan division, his work in the party was mainly at the Bukit Bendera division under Zairil Khir Johari.
When contacted by theSun, DAP Bagan division chief Phee Boon Chee said he is not sure about the resignation.
He said he only knew about the news from Facebook and personally has not seen Teoh yet.
“I have no idea about it, I haven’t seen him yet,” he said.
