Perak police have almost completed their investigations into allegations of molestation and unnatural sex involving students of the Darul Barakah tahfiz school belonging to famous preacher Mohd Kazim Elias.
State CID chief Gan Tian Kee said police had been instructed by the Attorney-General's Chambers to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the case which allegedly took place in August last year.
Several witnesses had been called to have their statements recorded to facilitate investigations into the case, he said.
"The investigation papers are almost ready and the police will soon submit to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action," he told reporters after witnessing the handing over of duties of Perak Tengah district police chief in Seri Iskandar today.
At the ceremony, former Jerantut district deputy police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah was appointed as the new Perak Tengah district police chief, effective today, replacing Aziz Hassan who began compulsory retirement.
