'Oooh... I'm so scared', crown prince says of Annuar Musa

Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim offered a sarcastic response when asked if he was afraid of his rival Umno information chief Annuar Musa with regard to the contest for the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president's post.
“Oooh... I am so scared,” he quipped with a smile when one of the audience asked him this.
The crown prince was speaking to fans of the national football team at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Tunku Ismail said that if he wins the FAM presidency he will enact structural changes in FAM, as he understands that many are not happy with the organisation's present structure.
Part of the changes he plans to undertake is to ensure that the voice of football supporters will be heard by FAM higher ups.
"It is the same for me too (I am unhappy with FAM's structure). Most of what the supporters want, never reached FAM top guns.
"(If I am president), every three months supporters will be free to speak all they want about the direction of football in Malaysia.
"I too thirst for change, just like you all," he said, assuring all that as president he will listen to their criticisms and suggestions.
Meanwhile, asked why his u-turn from his earlier decision not to contest the presidency, Tunku Ismail told the audience that he did so for the good of Malaysian football, as he was afraid that the leadership of FAM will fall into the wrong hands

"I am more comfortable in Johor. Why should I be FAM president and face the constant hammering?
"But I am here because I was thinking, that after 31 years, football supporters want to see change. What would happen if the future of footbal is controlled by the wrong person.
"The least I could do, is to accept my nomination. I'll try my best. Then the supporters can see and decide for themselves. If they think that I am not suited for the task, (of being FAM president), it lies within their power to choose another.
"All I want to do is give my best to the national team," he said.- Mkini
