Former chief secretary to the government Mohd Sidek Hassan has been appointed to lead a task force, which has been formed to investigate the losses made by Bank Negara in foreign exchange trading, during the late 1980s, reports Bernama.
This was reportedly announced by the Prime Minister's office this evening.
The government has recently decided to investigate the matter after the scandal was revived by critics of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in response to him weighing down on the 1MDB scandal and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's alleged involvement in the matter.- Mkini
