Is Sarawak immigration control becoming lax?

According to recent reports, there have allegedly been numerous cases of immigration violations at Kuching International Airport (KIA). There is seemingly a security loophole at the Immigration Department at KIA.
“During a trip from Miri to Kuching, there are no officers-in-charge to do passengers checking at the domestic flight arrival hall,” said S4S volunteer Eric Leong Kong Chung. S4S has also received many complaints from the public as this is not the first case.
“After receiving such complaints from a few of my friends, I decided to take this opportunity to email Ken Leben, the director of Sarawak Immigration Department,” he said. Although he has yet to receive a response from the director, Leong urges the Immigration Department to take serious action on the issue.
Why should we have to tighten our immigration?
The Sarawak government has authority over Immigration control, following the signing of the Malaysia Agreement (MA63) in 1963. This is our right where we shall use it to deny entrance to people such as Islamic State (IS) members, extremists, illegal labourers, etc.
Entering Sarawak by using a passport?
We should enhance our security checks by resume the practice of using a passport to enter Sarawak as well as the 90-day visiting period to be adjusted back to a 30-day period.
The relevant authorities are welcome to contact Eric Leong for discussions on airport security measures.- Mkini
