The Pahang Palace regrets the spread of such false news and has stressed that the sultan is fine.
PEKAN: The Pahang Palace today refuted the report about the Pahang Sultan being ill and that his “health condition is worrying” which had gone viral on the social media, including WhatsApp, since yesterday afternoon.
According to the Special Private Secretary to the Sultan of Pahang Lt Col (R) Nor Hashim Abdul Aziz, the news from the circular which allegedly came from Istana Abu Bakar and quoted the Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah as saying that all celebrations and entertainment programmes in the state be cancelled due to the Sultan’s poor health condition was a hoax.
“This is an irresponsible act and Tengku Abdullah had never issued such a decree,” he said in a statement here today.
He said the Pahang Palace regretted the spread of such false news and stressed that the sultan was fine. -FMT
