The police are recording statements from organisers of the "Turun Minyak, Turun Najib" New Year's eve protest in Kuala Lumpur, said PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
"There was no specific issue. I just went in to give a statement," Nik Nazmi told reporters outside the Dang Wangi district police station this morning.
"Before this PKR Youth organising secretary, Shukri Razab have also had his statement recorded.
"According to the police, there will be several others called up to have their statements recorded," said the Seri Setia assemblyperson.
He also added that all the organisers have given the police their full cooperation for investigations under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
The rally drew hundreds of people who marched from the Sogo shopping centre to Dataran Merdeka.
The protest came amid rising fuel prices at that time.
During the event, rally organisers and police were engaged in a minor standoff.
Authorities had insisted that protesters were not allowed to use loud hailers or drums.
They were asked to disperse a short distance away from Dataran Merdeka, which the crowd complied with.
