tun-m-pakatan-harapan-ph-1PUTRAJAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad is confident that problems within Pakatan Harapan (PH) will be solved, in the wake of the public spat between Selangor PKR and Amanah leaders over the allocation of seats for the next general election.
“There is no way that we can satisfy everyone in decisions that involve four parties,” he told a press conference after attending a youth forum at his Perdana Leadership Foundation.
“It is normal that these parties are unhappy with the outcome. If everyone is happy, it means that we are unfair,” he said.
His comments come a day after Amanah and DAP leaders questioned a claim by PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali that 80% of seats in the state had already been decided, during four meetings attended by PH partners.
This was followed by Amanah and PKR denying that the meetings were about allocation of seats.
A strong statement by Selangor Amanah chief Izham Omar on Azmin later sparked a series of media statements by PKR leaders hitting out at Amanah.
Mahathir today said leaders from both PKR and Amanah had met him to explain the issue.
He said the coalition should not air their disagreements in public.

“Making statements in public will sometimes have negative effects,” he said.
“I think they just need some time and the matter will be resolved.”
Meanwhile, Mahathir again hit out at the #Undirosak (spoilt votes) campaign, calling those behind it as irresponsible.
“Yes, these are democratic ways, including not voting. Then we should boycott everything,” he said.
“As citizens, we must have the sense of responsibility for our future. People should vote, make up their mind, and don’t complain. They don’t want to vote but want to complain.”
The campaign comes in the wake of PH’s announcement of Mahathir as the coalition’s candidate for prime minister. -FMT
