Resign if you can't reunite Indira with her daughter, Kit Siang tells IGP

Inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun should step down as the country's number one cop if he fails to reunite M Indira Ghandi with her youngest daughter Prasana Diksa, said DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang.
"I don't think anybody can understand why the police with all the resources at their command couldn't reunite Indira with her daughter.
"I think the IGP may even have to resign if he cannot even ensure the reunification of Indira and her daughter," said Lim in a press conference in Ipoh today.
Lim added that the current IGP should not be holding the position "if he cannot uphold the supreme law of the land", citing the Federal Constitution.
"I'm sure it's not too difficult in Malaysia to be able to reunite Indira and her daughter. I call on the deputy prime minister to take a personal attention on this matter."
Also present during the press conference today were Indira and her lawyer, Ipoh Barat MP M Kulasegaran.

Earlier during the press conference, Indira said she has yet to hear from the police on the whereabouts of her daughter since the Federal Court's decision earlier this week.
"It's very heartbreaking, even though I won (the case), I still cannot be reunited (with Prasana), how long do I have to wait?
"As a mother, I want to hold her, I can't even remember how her face looks like. I only have the memory of a child.
"Now she's a 10-year-old child, I hope the police will act fast and bring back Prasana as soon as possible," she added.
Commenting on what he described as a "heart-rending" call made by Indira to be reunited with her daughter, Lim questioned how the country would be able to fight terrorism if a person "can disappear into thin air".
"(There is) no need for a reward of RM5,000 to reunite Indira and her daughter. It's for the various agencies to carry out their work.
"I hope that the IGP will get the message that Indira (should) be able to hold her daughter after 10 years and... to carry out her motherly instincts," added Lim.

Meanwhile, Kulasegaran (photo) cited the Federal Court ruling which he said was clear in that the IGP must be the one to serve committal proceedings on Indira's former husband.
"IGP (must) take the necessary action as soon as possible. Failing which, we will make an application to the High Court of Ipoh to force the IGP to take the necessary action," he said.
Indira's ex-husband K Patmanathan @ Muhammad Riduan Abdullah unilaterally converted their children Tevi Darsiny, Karan Dinish, and Prasana, into Islam, in 2009.
He also took Prasana, who was then only 11 months old, with him. Indra has not seen Prasana since.
The Federal Court in its landmark decision had ruled that conversions of minors required the consent of both parents.
The court also awarded Indira custody over all three of her children, compelling police to track down Riduan.
Fuzi had said that the Muslim convert was still in the country and that efforts were being made to find him.
