Srikandi Bersatu: There are people trying to bribe us

Bersatu’s Srikandi wing has alleged that there have been attempts to induce its members to disparage the party publicly.

At a press conference today, the movement's leader Rina Mohd Harun (photo) said evidence of one such incident has been reported to the MACC.

"I'm glad that the majority of Srikandi members have resisted such efforts to induce them.

"We know who you are," she said, referring to the alleged perpetrators.

According to lawyer Mohd Haniff Khatri Abdulla, the party was informed that a suspect was nabbed by MACC after the report was made, though he was unable to divulge further details.

"Questions regarding the suspect or the details of the investigations have to be referred to the Putrajaya branch of MACC," he said.

Laws governing the MACC prevent complainants from revealing the details stated in their reports.

Meanwhile, Rina urged those responsible for the alleged inducements to cease and desist, or risk being exposed.

At the time of writing, MACC officials have yet to respond to a request for comments on this issue. -Mkini
