PARLIAMENT | Only 60 government MPs have submitted their asset declaration papers to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the MACC as of Oct 20.
Pakatan Harapan's four component parties currently have 117 seats in the Dewan Rakyat while allies Parti Warisan Sabah has nine.
In a parliamentary written reply, Law Minister Liew Vui Keong said the MACC has aimed to publish the asset declaration documents on Nov 1.
He said this in reply to Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (PAS-Pengkalan Chepa) who wanted to know what was the total asset value of the cabinet and their family members.
Ahmad Marzuk had also asked if Putrajaya would include officers to the cabinet ministers in the asset declaration exercise in the future.
To this, Liew explained the asset declaration exercise will eventually include ministerial officers such as political secretaries, private secretaries and senior private secretaries.
Item 14 of the Pakatan Harapan manifesto for the May 9 elections saw the coalition pledging to compel all members of the Dewan Rakyat, Dewan Negara and government officials with Jusa C rank and above to declare their assets as part of an anti-corruption drive.
The MACC had originally planned to publish the asset declaration papers on Oct 1 but it was later postponed to Oct 15. - Mkini
