From midnight tonight, RON97 petrol will cost RM2.43 per litre, an increase of 5 sen, while RON95 petrol will remain unchanged at RM2.08 per litre.
The price of diesel will also remain at RM2.18 per litre.
These prices will be effective from March 2 to March 8.
Putrajaya had reinstated the weekly petrol and diesel price floating mechanism with effect from Jan 1.
On Feb 27, the Finance Ministry announced that the cabinet had decided to lower the ceiling price for RON95 from RM2.20 to RM2.08 per litre.
It said the reduction of the reserve price is in line with the Harapan government's commitment to reduce the cost of living.
In announcing the prices that take effect tonight, the ministry pointed out that if not for the lowered ceiling price, the retail price of RON95 for the period of March 2 to 8 would have been RM2.13 per litre. - Mkini
