Guan Eng: DAP will lodge police reports against Umno's Omar Faudzar over phantom voters claim

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP will lodge police reports against Umno leader Datuk Omar Faudzar for accusing DAP of bringing in phantom voters from China.
"It is a malicious accusation because it plays on racial sentiments.
"It is very dangerous and his statement is not true at all," DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng (pic) told reporters after launching the DAP Kuala Lumpur Federal Territories annual convention on Sunday (Dec 8).
He added that DAP representatives in several states have begun to lodge police reports against Omar.
Lim noted that Omar had also accused him of trying to destroy the "Malay economy" by selling government-linked companies (GLCs).
"The GLCs are not under me but under Khazanah Holdings Bhd, which is chaired by the Prime Minister (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad).
"I am not even on Khazanah's board of directors, so how can I be involved?" Lim said, adding that this was an attempt to play up racial sentiments by accusing him for it.
Omar, who is Bukit Gelugor Umno division chief, made the accusations against DAP at the Umno general assembly.
He cited the recent MyKad syndicate operating out of Penang as well as the recent Auditor-General's Report 2018 as the basis for his claims.
The audit report noted that 76,258 or 95.6% out of 79,799 Chinese tourists arrivals in the Malaysian Immigration System had no record of exit dates.
Immigration Department director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud has since said the figures in the report were inaccurate, saying only 18,341 individuals have yet to leave the country.
Earlier, DAP delegates held a cake-cutting ceremony for Lim to mark his 59 birthday.-Star
