Kelantan Bersatu is prepared to work with the PAS-led state government, said its chairperson Kamarudin Md Nor.
He said based on the current situation, Kelantan Bersatu will cooperate based on decisions taken by the party’s central leadership.
“We are prepared to cooperate with the Kelantan government after the central leadership coordinates the matter.
“It’s just that we are waiting for further decisions by the central leadership on what form the cooperation should take, and we are open to it,” Kamarudin (photo) told Malaysiakini today.
He said this in voicing support for party president Muhyiddin Yassin’s appointment as prime minister, in the wake of a political turmoil that saw Perikatan Nasional seize the reins of federal power from Pakatan Harapan.
Kamarudin said he is glad for Muhyiddin’s appointment to succeed Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“The appointment settles the question of who would be Mahathir’s successor, and we’re happy that this prime minister is also from Bersatu.
“Of course, we are grateful and thank Mahathir for his many contributions to the party and the country,” he said. - Mkini
