A former minister lost RM200,000 after the money, kept in a safe box in a room, was purportedly stolen.
The lawmaker only realised that the money disappeared from the safe on March 28, reported Berita Harian.
It is learnt that the safe is located in the victim's room on the second floor of a two-storey bungalow located in Petaling Jaya.
Quoting a source, BH reported that there are no signs of a break-in and that the last time the victim checked the safe was two weeks ago.
The victim had allegedly informed that the money belonged to a political party.
Following the police report, the police picked up an Indonesian woman who worked as a maid in the house yesterday to facilitate investigation.
The Malay daily also quoted Petaling Jaya district police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal as saying that the investigation is conducted under Section 380 of the Penal Code for stealing. - Mkini
