CORONAVIRUS | Some private-sector workers will be allowed to return to work for a day so that salaries can be processed.
The Human Resources Ministry said private sector staff belonging to the finance or human resources department would be allowed to go to their company officers for a day.
It added that they must choose between tomorrow (March 31) or April 1.
"Only a maximum of two representatives will be allowed (to be at the office)," it said in a statement today.
It said employers must furnish the chosen staff members with a letter containing the full name, MyKad number and contact number of a superior for verification purposes.
"The employee will need to present the letter if requested by the authorities to facilitate their movement to the workplace," it said.
The country has been put under a movement control order (MCO) since March 18.
Under the MCO, non-essential businesses and services are ordered closed and people are discouraged from leaving home except for pressing reasons such as to restock on food supplies.
The MCO, which was initially set to end on March 31, has been extended to April 14. - Mkini
