Kelantan Umno Youth has lambasted DAP Youth chief Howard Lee after the latter labelled the Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki as a hypocrite.
Lee's remark came after Asyraf called for a political ceasefire among political parties to prepare for difficult economic times ahead.
"It's clear that it was DAP and Pakatan Harapan who are actually hypocrites.
"Because of the fight between (PKR president) Anwar and (former premier) Mahathir Mohamad over prime minister post, the country's administration had collapsed on itself without pressure from any party," said its chief Noor Hariri Mohamed Noor (photo, above).
Noor Hariri claimed that the political instability within Pakatan Harapan had victimised the people and affected the country's economic development, on top of the previous government's failure to curb the spread of Covid-19.
"God's destiny had led the leaders under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition to save the country from a wicked complot masterminded by DAP.
"The PN government is much better than the previous Harapan government which was filled with lies," he said.
Noor Hariri likened the DAP Youth leader's statement against Asyraf as a "pig (which is non-halal for Muslims) which considers itself halal but which accuses the horse of being non-halal".
On June 6, Asyraf had said that the PN government was able to come up with the National Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana) to help the economy that has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic despite having to face "political obsession" by certain leaders that threatened the nation's stability.
"The next three to six months will be the most difficult time for the people to adjust, post-movement control order, to a more challenging life due to the economic turmoil from the Covid-19 pandemic.
"To realise the economic recovery, Umno Youth calls on politicians, regardless of political parties in the government or opposition, to immediately take a political ceasefire," Asyraf had said.
In response to the statement, Lee advised Asyraf to reflect on his political hypocrisy.
"If Umno Youth genuinely wants a ceasefire, it is simple - return the power you seized so that Harapan can resume with the people's mandate given in the 14th General Election.
"I hope the Umno Youth chief will reflect on his political hypocrisy," he said. - Mkini
