KENYATAAN MEDIA PEJABAT PERDANA MENTERI

Medical Report on YAB Tan Sri Muhyideen bin Haji Yassin. Prime Minister Malaysia
As the medical team looking after YAB Tan Sri Muhyideen Yassin, our Prime Minister, we have been very concerned about the irresponsible media reporting regarding his health. This is why, despite patient confidentiality, and with the permission of the Prime Minister, we are issuing the following statement.
1. YAB Tan Sri Muhyideen Yassin has had stage 1a pancreatic cancer which was diagnosed in 2018 and fully treated. He had surgery to remove the tumour followed by a period of intensive chemotherapy that has since been completed almost two years ago.
2. He has had regular follow-ups in Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Gleneagles Hospital Singapore and the Mayo Clinic, USA. Experts in pancreatic cancer have conducted detailed investigations and have confirmed that there is no evidence of cancer currently and certainly no evidence of recurrent
disease.
3. We are of the opinion that YAB Tan Sri Muhyideen Yassin is fit to serve the people and the nation.
As medical professionals we are appalled at the false reporting that has no basis.

My comments : My view is no matter how much you may disagree with someone (especially politicians) there is no need to hate them personally. Politicians are a fact of life.
And you should never exploit someone's health. I have personally suffered chronic muscle tears where severe pain was involved. Once I was in severe pain for FOUR straight days and one 48 hour stretch without sleep. (But I still blogged - fuiyyo.) It is not an experience you should wish for anyone. And certainly not to be exploited.
The Prime Minister has indeed recovered well. The talk I heard was that the initial medication (2 years ago) was actually too strong or had to be changed etc. As the doctor's letter says the PM's health is in good standing. So let us wish good health for all human beings - friends and foes alike ok?
