Armed forces chief not at Oct 3 meet, IGP under quarantine

COVID-19 | Armed forces chief Affendi Buang did not attend the special National Security Council meeting on Oct 3.

According to Armed Forces public affairs division head Mohd Riduan Yusoff, Affendi was, therefore, not currently required to undergo quarantine.

On Oct 3, state news agency Bernama reported that Affendi was among the participants in the meeting.

All meeting participants, including Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, have been ordered to undergo 14-day home quarantine after Islamic Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, inspector-general of police Abdul Hamid Bador, who was at the meeting, said he tested negative after undergoing a swab test yesterday.

However, Abdul Hamid said he is currently undergoing self-quarantine for 14 days as a preventive measure.

"I have undergone eight Covid-19 swab tests (so far), and the results have come back negative," he said in a brief reply to Bernama.

He said that his deputy, Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, had full authority to manage the team throughout his self-quarantine period. - Mkini
