KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded another two deaths due to Covid-19 on Monday (Oct 12).
Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this brings the total number of deaths to 35 in the state.
He said there is also one more area listed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) - Felda Umas, Tawau - which will take effect from Oct 13 until Oct 26.
Previously, six areas in Semporna and one in Kunak were under the enhanced MCO which starts from Oct 13 to Oct 26.
Meanwhile, Masidi said Sabah recorded an additional 291 new Covid-19 cases as of noon on Monday.
He said this brings the total cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sabah to 4,621, with 2,688 still undergoing treatment.
As for food baskets, the state government has distributed a total of 9,409 food baskets to the affected people in the enhanced MCO districts of Lahad Datu, Semporna, Kunak, Tawau and Sandakan.
Masidi, who is also the state Local Government and Housing Minister and Finance Minister II, reminded all to strictly adhere to SOPs in a bid to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. - Star
