Health Minister Dr Adham Baba has confirmed that he has a programme at a resort in Desaru, Johor tomorrow.
However, he denies that it is to play golf and insisted that he doesn't know how to play the sport.
Adham's denial comes after netizens poured scorn on Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly going down to Desaru yesterday to play golf.
Screenshots shared on social media - alleged to be instructions to the resort's workers - also showed that Adham had a programme at the same resort on Sunday.
Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, the minister denied he had gone golfing in Desaru yesterday, pointing out that he had attended a string of Health Ministry programmes yesterday.
"Me playing golf? This is slander," he said. He was also quoted by the Malay daily as saying he did not know how to play the game.
However, he did acknowledge that he has a programme in Desaru tomorrow but pointed out that it was for a behavioural impact event.
Yesterday, photos of Muhyiddin attending a dinner at the same resort in Desaru went viral, sparking anger that he was allegedly not focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic amid a triple-digit surge in cases.
Also viral were photos of a banner for Muhyiddin's golf foundation's charity event at another resort in Desaru.
The second resort was allegedly where participants of the charity golf tournament would be staying while they would tee-off at a nearby golf club.
According to the alleged itinerary, the participants were supposed to check-in yesterday while the tournament was scheduled for today and tomorrow.
