PETALING JAYA: The off-duty policeman who earned praises for going above and beyond the call of duty for giving a student a ride so he could sit for his exam has been identified as Constable Muhammad Khairul Azhar Abdullah.
Const Khairul gained recognition online after helping out a student Cyberjaya who got delayed because of an accident at Persiaran Utara, Putrajaya.
The student's cousin posted a few pictures on Twitter showing the student riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by Const Khairul.
"Thank you @PDRM for sending my cousin to sit for his exam after your shift ended. I am sorry we did not get your name," said the student's cousin known as Ruki on Twitter.
Ruki posted pictures of his cousin and Const Khairul around 8.30am on Wednesday (Oct 14).
Putrajaya Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Supt Mohd Asri Abdul said a 1km-long congestion caused by an accident involving two lorries and three cars had disrupted the student's journey.
"The drivers of the vehicles involved sustained light injuries in the accident," he said when contacted.
