Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal began his 14-day self-quarantine yesterday after coming into close contact with a Covid-19 positive case.
According to a statement on the PJ police’s official Facebook page, Nik Ezanee had been in close contact with a Petaling district medical officer whom he met in several meetings to plan operations to curb the epidemic.
The officer in question had attended a meeting with a Tropicana security manager who was later confirmed positive for Covid-19.
"Therefore, Petaling Jaya District Police deputy chief Supt Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood will assume the duties of the police chief until the test result is released by the Ministry of Health Malaysia," according to the statement.
This comes as Selangor is poised to fall under a conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) at midnight tonight due to a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases. - Mkini
