Terengganu PKR Youth women's chief Yuslaini Azmi has lambasted Bersatu Youth leaders for lodging a police report against PKR president Anwar Ibrahim for not presenting a list of the MPs whom he said supported him, during his audience with the King on Tuesday.
"I find it quite funny the actions of some Bersatu Youth members who made a police report on Anwar.
"After Anwar announced he had a majority (in the Dewan Rakyat) on Sept 23, some MPs also lodged police reports saying they were included in Anwar's cabinet even though Anwar never released the names of MPs who he says are supporting him.
"Now Bersatu Youth has lodged a report against Anwar for allegedly insulting the institution of the King. When the Sheraton Move took place, did (Bersatu president) Muhyiddin Yassin reveal the list of MPs who supported him?" asked Yuslaini in a statement today.
Yesterday, Bersatu information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir claimed that Anwar's action was an insult against the royal institution.
“The PKR president’s claim that he has a majority in the Dewan Rakyat to form a new government is a lie. He said he would disclose the names of MPs who support him to form a new government but he didn’t,” Ashraf said.
He was speaking to reporters after lodging a police report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
Yuslaini said that Bersatu Youth was better off worrying about the current status of its Perikatan Nasional coalition after Umno confirmed that its leadership had met and was willing to leave the coalition.
"This also means that Muhyiddin has lost the majority in Parliament," she claimed.
"I want to ask Bersatu Youth how many MPs are there to support the leadership of Muhyiddin if Umno itself is playing tug of war with the current government.
"We also want to know the list of names because, without Umno, the current PM has lost the (parliamentary) majority," she said.
The police report against Anwar was lodged under Section 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998 for spreading menacing information.
"Where is the incitement committed by the leader of the opposition when he is only facing the Yang di-Pertuan Agong after being welcomed by Istana Negara?" asked Yuslaini.
"How can Anwar's meeting be considered an insult?" she added, saying Bersatu Youth's move was a childish act.
"I think the Bersatu Youth information chief may have an amnesia problem because he has forgotten that the Sheraton Move itself caused chaos and threatened Malaysia's stability at a time when Malaysians were facing the Covid-19 pandemic," she added.
Bukit Aman (Federal Police) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Huzir Mohamed said yesterday that the police have not finalised the date to record a statement from Anwar, following a slew of police reports against him by MPs whose names were allegedly on his supporters list but denied that they backed him. - Mkini
