A total of 686 areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur will be experiencing unscheduled water cuts from 9pm tonight, according to Air Selangor.
This came after Air Selangor was forced to shut down the Sungai Selangor Fasa 1 water treatment plant to facilitate repair works due to leakage of pipes that supplied treated water.
"The repair works are expected to be fully completed at 8am, Oct 18," Air Selangor said in a statement.
The affected districts comprise Petaling, Gombak, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Selangor, all areas that receive treated water supply from the Sungai Selangor Fasa 1 water treatment plant.
"Water supply will be restored in stages after completion of repair works and the resumption of the plant's water treatment system at 2pm, Oct 18," said Air Selangor.
The disruption is the second in the state this week from pipe problems.
It was reported on Wednesday that a broken pipe near the Jalan Bukit Raja TNB power station in Klang caused water supply to be cut off to 15 areas in Klang and Shah Alam. - Mkini
