Ousted Perak menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu has urged Johor Bersatu not to seek revenge.
The Bersatu deputy president said this when asked about calls for a retaliatory strike against Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad.
"Don't seek revenge. In politics, we should not be vengeful. There must be matters that we can resolve.
"But this is the kind of reaction that we don't want, after what happened in the Perak state assembly," he told reporters in Ipoh today.
Bersatu's Kempas assemblyperson Osman Sapian earlier suggested that the party could remove Hasni in retaliation for Umno's move to oust Faizal.
The Johor Perikatan Nasional state government has 29 seats, while the opposition has 27 seats.
Twelve of the state government's seats belong to Bersatu.
Faizal said he hoped that all other PN governments, including Putrajaya, will continue to function smoothly.
The Chenderian assemblyperson was removed from office after losing a vote of confidence in the Perak legislature yesterday.
Perak Umno said it was unhappy with Faizal, especially over the unilateral appointment of an Umno assemblyperson as his political secretary.
Faizal said today that his unilateral move was quite different than the one taken in the state assembly yesterday. - Mkini
