Works Dept apologises after pothole causes minister's cycling mishap

 

The Kuala Langat Public Works Department has apologised to Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin over a pothole in Banting.

This is after the minister suffered injuries from hitting the pothole.

"Pothole, ditch, KJ. 2020 keeps giving," Khairy said in a Twitter posting.

The post showed photographs of the pothole and a bicycle by the nearby ditch.

Khairy also shared a picture of his injuries which showed bruises on his left forehead, nose and mouth.

Meanwhile, Khairy's aide Raja Syahrir Abu Bakar said the minister suffered minor injuries and that there was nothing serious.

Responding to Khairy on Twitter, the Kuala Langat Public Works Department conveyed its apology.

"Kuala Langat JKR apologises for the incident that befell the minister, will take immediate action over the issue and pray for YB's speedy recovery," it said.

Banting falls under the jurisdiction of the Kuala Langat district.
