PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong is questioning why a shopping mall in Johor is advising the public not to use public transportation.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (Dec 27), the Ayer Hitam MP highlighted the advisory by the Plaza Angsana management.
He said public transportation was the mode of transport for those in the B40 and M40 groups, adding that not everybody could afford to own a car.
"Since the start of the Covid-19 infection spread, there has not been a day where public transportation such as buses, taxis, rail and e-hailing have stopped throughout the movement control order (MCO), Conditional MCO and Recovery MCO," he said.
Wee added that the Transport Ministry and Health Ministry had set strict procedures, including taking the temperature of riders and enforcing the use of face masks and sanitizers.
"I hope the management of Plaza Angsana will correct the information because it will only confuse the public," he said.
