Three Perak PAS assemblypersons publicly apologised for failing to appear before the state ruler when instructed to do so on Tuesday.
At a press conference in Ipoh today, Perak PAS leader Razman Zakaria said he and his two colleagues sought forgiveness for their "mistake".
"Perak PAS will also write to the palace to seek forgiveness for the three of us," he added during the short press conference.
Razman declined to comment on whether PAS representatives would be appointed into the state cabinet.
Around noon on Tuesday, Sultan Nazrin Shah had summoned Bersatu and PAS state lawmakers to the palace that afternoon.
Titi Serong assemblyperson Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim, who is a Bersatu member, was the sole person to show up.
Perak Bersatu head Ahmad Faizal Azumu had explained that his party did not receive an official summon from the palace.
Malaysiakini could not verify if this is true. However, palace spokesperson Annuar Zaini had informed the press of the Perak ruler's wish to grant an the audience.
Faizal was ousted as the Perak menteri besar last Friday through a confidence vote in the Perak Legislative Assembly. The motion was filed by an Umno lawmaker.
Following this, Umno attempted to form a government with Pakatan Harapan, but their negotiations on this failed.
Eventually, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi apologised for his party's "mistake" in ousting Faizal.
This was enough to convince Bersatu and PAS to support Saarani for the the post of Perak menteri besar. He was sworn-in yesterday. - Mkini
