KUALA LUMPUR: The police have arrested two more suspects for rioting after a fight broke out at Low Yat Plaza on Saturday (Dec 5).
"The two new arrests were made after they came to surrender themselves at 1am. All 44 suspects have been remanded until Dec 7.
"On Dec 4, the police arrived at the scene at 8.15pm and investigations showed that the fight was due to a group of men unhappy that their customers had been taken away by another shop," said Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah.
He emphasised that the fight was not caused by racial issues.
"The public is advised to not share videos that could cause unease. They are also advised to maintain public harmony together so all can live peacefully," he said.
On Friday, 42 people were detained after the fight at Low Yat Plaza.
Videos of the fight were posted on social media showing groups of people trying to break up the scuffle in the mall and outside it. - Star
