Convincing the people to vote in the next general election will be a tough challenge, said Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
He said many are disillusioned with voting due to party hopping.
"This next election will not be easy for us to campaign for. There are some people who don't want to vote anymore.
"(They say) 'Why should we vote for a representative? The party that wins won't rule, the losers will govern when the elected representative switches sides," he said during the Federal Territories Amanah convention today.
Pakatan Harapan had been removed from federal power in February this year through defections by Bersatu and 10 PKR leaders who sided with BN, PAS, and GPS.
To have a better chance in the next election, Mohamad said the opposition must close ranks, and have more friends than enemies.
On Thursday, Mohamad and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng made a call for the opposition to undergo a "political reset", to stop trying to court defectors from Perikatan Nasional, and instead unite with their allies.
This was amid calls by Warisan for a change of leadership in the opposition.
Mohamad and Lim's remarks had reportedly caused unease in Pakatan Harapan, leading to a cancelled meeting on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Amanah president said that GE15 will be soon.
"There are lots of rumours. Some say March, some say June. But it is near, because we know the prime minister is under siege, he is not free," he said.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin leads an uneasy alliance in PN, with Umno constantly threatening to revolt.
His party, however, is making efforts to ensure that Umno and Bersatu contest GE15 together, instead of against each other. - Mkini
