Covid-19 (March 24) - 1,268 new cases, active number higher

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,268 new cases of Covid-19 today and two deaths.

The new infections comprised 74.61 percent Malaysians and 25.39 percent non-citizens.

On the flip side, 1,083 Covid-19 patients recovered today but they were outpaced by new infections leading to a 183 number increase in active cases thus increasing the strain on Covid-19 hospitals.

  • Active cases: 14,637
  • Patients in ICUs: 161
  • Intubated: 73

Selangor still had the most number of infections bu 135 cases fewer than yesterday.

This was followed by Sarawak at 141 cases, Johor at 135 cases and Penang at 99 cases.

Deaths

There were 2 fatalities today, bringing the death toll to 1,246.

Both new deaths were recorded in Selangor (2).

Those who died were aged between 43 and 77.

New cases by states

Clusters

A total of 395 out of the 1,314 clusters nationwide are still active.

This includes the four clusters reported today as well as another eight that were declared resolved.

The resolved clusters are Kubang Jambu, Jalan Geronggang, Bukit Tengah, Pangkal Changgong, Ladang Segama, Tapak Bina Jalan Abdul Aziz, Jalan Dato Yunus and Tapak Bina Jalan Emas.
